CF Week 2020
11 Jun
The CHO’s charity partner, the Cystic Fibrosis Trust (CFT), will be holding its annual awareness week next week (15-21 June) and due to the Coronavirus pandemic, this year’s event has gone virtual.
In a troubling time for many charities, the week will highlight the effects that cystic fibrosis has on people with the disease, as well as their friends and families, and the work the Trust does to support them, as well as having fun and raising vital funds for the charity.
CF Week 2020 will be focused around the theme of balance, showing both the successes and the challenges the cystic fibrosis community have in balancing everyday life with their condition.
The CFT will stage a number of events during the week, including a live ‘pub’ quiz and rounding off the working week with Wear Yellow Day and the Big Yellow Party.
How can you get involved?
The CFT will host a quiz night on Wednesday 17 June running from 7:30 – 8:30pm. Quizzes are fun for everyone, but it is also a great chance to grab bragging rights over friends, family or colleagues. The event is free to enter, but you are encouraged to donate the price of a round of drinks, as though you were at the pub quiz, if you can.
Along with ‘Wear Yellow Day’, the week will culminate with the Trust’s ‘Big Yellow Party’ on Friday 19 June. Kicking off at 6pm via Zoom, the party has an impressive line-up of DJ’s, dancers and mixologists with a few surprises packed into the hour too. Again, this is a free event, but donations are greatly received by the charity, if you are able to donate.
Keep an eye out for more updates throughout the week as we continue to work with the trust to raise awareness for Cystic Fibrosis.
Where possible, please send this to your colleagues and employees.
