Nuvalaw Joins the Credit Hire Organisation

Claims technology business Nuvalaw has joined the Credit Hire Organisation (CHO), the trade body for the UK credit hire industry, as an associate member.

Nuvalaw is pioneering the use of tech-enabled alternative dispute resolution to resolve disputed claims, and CEO Willie Pienaar believes insurers, credit hire companies and customers will benefit from rapid resolution of their motor claim.

He said: “We are especially interested to work with credit hire companies (CHCs) and insurers who currently sit outside the GTA, which operates under a separate set of processes.”

He explained that the GTA is a voluntary protocol which aims to remove frictional costs in credit hire claims.

“We have a great track record in resolving disputed injury claims, and our platform, Interact, is also set up to manage credit hire claims, which as many of us working in motor claims know, can be complex and protracted.”

Anthony Hughes, CEO and Chair of the CHO, said: “It’s great to have Nuvalaw on board and playing an active role in the conversation about the future for tech-enabled ADR. I am convinced that ADR will have a major role to play in the future of our industry.”

“We know the Judiciary has mandated the use of mediation for sub £10K civil cases, so it may be that this technology is at the tipping point of widespread adoption across our civil justice system, which desperately needs new ways of working to reduce court delays and build back public confidence.”

He added: “I’m sure our members – whether GTA subscribers or not – will be keen to hear more from Willie and his team about the potential for Interact, and in the medium term, we’d like to see a competitive market emerging for mediation and ADR services.”

About the CHO

The Credit Hire Organisation (the CHO) is the trade body for the UK credit hire sector and represents member CHCs and the sector more generally with motor insurers, government and the media, as well as other trade associations and external stakeholders.

Now in its fourth decade, the credit hire industry has helped millions of customers who require replacement vehicles following an accident for which they were not at fault, and in the process has become an established and legitimate part of the UK insurance claims industry.

When a customer experiences a road traffic accident, the knock-on effects can be significant and long-lasting. Losing the vehicle can cause problems with work, childcare and quality of life. Our member credit hire companies (CHCs) safeguard the rights of consumers to be put back in the position they were in before an accident.

Each year, our member CHCs provide mobility solutions to hundreds of thousands of accident victims, employ tens of thousands of staff and make a significant contribution to the UK economy.
