'Stop the Scams'
01 Oct
The Insurance Fraud Bureau has launched a national campaign called ‘Stop the Scams’ to help the public spot potential scams and frauds and report them to the IFB Cheatline. The campaign follows predictions that insurance fraud will rise as a result of the pandemic.
The campaign highlights three common insurance scams, one of which is ‘cash for crash,’ which the IFB predicts will increase, as many drivers are now returning to the road after several months where they have done limited or no driving at all.
The full press release for the IFB’s campaign can be seen here and the team has also created a number of short videos, including one to highlight ‘cash for crash’ scams, which can be seen below;
- ‘Covid-19 fraud’
- ‘Covid-19 fraud long animation’
- ‘Crash for Cash’
- ‘Ghost Brokers’
- ‘Compensation scams’
The IFB has asked the CHO if we can share their campaign with all our members as part of a message that as an industry credit hire will not tolerate fraud against either CHCs or the customers that they serve to provide a mobility solution.
